Overview
Earwigs are recognizable by the pincers at the tip of their abdomen. They prefer moist environments and often enter homes through foundation gaps and door sweeps.
Warning Signs
- Earwigs found in bathrooms, basements, or kitchens
- Activity in mulch, leaf litter, or under stones near the foundation
- Damage to soft plant tissue in gardens
Health & Property Risks
Earwigs are mainly a nuisance but can damage houseplants and some vegetables. They do not pose health risks.
